The information below was given to us by our City Councillor, Riley Brockington.

The City recently released the draft Transportation Master Plan (TMP) Polices and launch of the Phase 3 Public Consultation. A copy of the draft policy document has been made available for review on the project website: engage.ottawa.ca/transportation-master-plan

Phase 3 of the Public Consultation provides the public with an opportunity to review draft TMP policies and provide feedback on several key themes. The Public is invited to share their thoughts by Friday, February 18, 2022, in several ways:

  • Through the surveys posted on the project website.
  • Directly through email at tmpupate@ottawa.ca.
  • Residents can also provide input on the active transportation networks by using the interactive tools found online. You may also assist to guide the pedestrian and cycling projects that are proposed for implementation from 2023 onwards.

The TMP team will review all comments and submissions received. A Public Open House on the draft policies and projects will be (tentatively) held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Residents are encouraged to sign up for notifications on the project website and continue to visit the website to learn more as details are confirmed. The Open House will be followed by the release of an “As We Heard It” report prior to the draft policies being presented to Committee and Council in the spring of 2022.

The capital infrastructure plan will be developed after the Origin Destination Survey, and will be brought forward for approval in Fall 2024.

Riley is looking to confirm in the draft and will continue to advocate for River Ward’s active transportation network, in particular, sidewalk, Multi-Use pathways and bike infrastructure.
