Kirkwood Avenue now has new painted lines, with only one lane of traffic in each direction, with biking lanes on both sides of the street and left-hand turning lanes where appropriate. All thanks to the work of our City Councillor and his staff.
This initiative is not the ideal way to calm traffic on Kirkwood but it was one of the least expensive ways to achieve the desired result of reducing Kirkwood’s speed limit to 40km/hour.
Our City Councillor, Riley Brockington, has also committed to surveying residents after a period of time has elapsed, in order to assess the success of the initiative as well as receive feedback and suggestions.
