This FREE certificate program, offered by Algonquin college, will provide you with the practical techniques and communication skills required for a position is the health care field. This condensed program includes 10 weeks of instructor-led virtual training, combined with in-person lab instruction at Algonquin College’s Woodroffe Campus (1385 Woodroffe Avenue, Ottawa), followed by a two-week placement. Eligibility Requirements: You must be:
- 18 years old (or 17 years old with a high school diploma)
- A Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
- An Ontario resident
- Currently unemployed and not in school
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, per Algonquin College policies
Learn the theories of nutrition, sanitation, safety and hygiene, as well as institutional cooking techniques to function safely and competently as a team member in a short- or long-term care facility.
