The City of Ottawa has released its “As We Heard It” Report which summarizes the stakeholder engagement involved in developing the policies for the draft New Official Plan, highlights key city-wide themes captured through stakeholder engagement, and illustrates how City Planners have responded to these themes.

City Planners continue to work on the 23 ward-specific “Interim As We Heard It Report” concerns and these will be released on the project website site (engage.ottawa.ca/the-new-official-plan) as they are completed.

Immediate Next Steps: The New Official Plan team is hosting a series of Public Sessions in June. These sessions are organized by transect and allow residents an opportunity to learn more about the feedback received to date and how City Planners have responded to this feedback.

Carlington is considered an “Inner Urban” Transect.

Register now for the June 28: 6:30 p.m. Transect – Inner Urban Public Meeting:

Future Steps: This summer, the full updated draft policies will be released for public review. This document will include tracked changes to assist residents in mapping out how policies have shifted throughout the process. There will be an Open House held in August prior to the policies being brought to Committee and Council in September.
