It seems that petty theft might be on the rise in Carlington. Stories are circulating about the theft of 2 children’s scooters and a commuting bike.

It’s understandable since this is a time of crisis and many people are finding themselves in difficult situations. Constable Joseph, our Community Police Constable encourages us to report every instance of petty theft, because that is the only way for the Ottawa Police and the NRT Constables to tell if petty theft is actually increasing, and reporting also helps with locations of these thefts. For example, Constable Darren has said that has been a definite increase in porch theft, as a result of people ordering items for delivery, since they are not able to go to stores themselves.
