Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, the Province of Ontario has created a new regulation concerning not-for-profit organizations (such as the CCA) holding Annual General Meetings.

These replacement provisions are in effect during the temporary suspension period only. They extend the period in which Annual General Meetings can be held. Also, meetings can now be held electronically (which was not allowed earlier).

The new regulation is available online on the Government of Ontario website.

Also available is a press release from the Ontario Nonprofit Network, talking about the above provisions as they specifically apply to annual general meetings as well as the provisions from Canada Revenue Agency for submitting Nonprofit Annual Forms.
