Summer plans with Odyssey Theatre and Carlington Arts

 Trees, stories, theatre and song! What a great way to spend the summer! 

Spreading Roots is a theatre-based community arts project drawing together elders, children, youth and adults to create a performance celebration of their neighbourhood trees through storytelling, dance and song, culminating in welcoming and planting a new tree. 

Workshop 1: Sunday, June 25, 2017. 1PM to 4PM Storytelling and sharing - Alexander Community Center

Workshop 2: Sunday, August 13, 2017. 1PM to 4PM Dance, Song and Script - Alexander Community Center

Workshop 3: Sunday, September 10. 1PM to 5PM Putting together the show - Alexander Community Center

Sunday September 17, 2017 - Performance and Tree Planting in Alexander Park.

MarketMobile Launch June 13

MarketMobile LaunchThe MarketMobile, an initiative of the Poverty and Hunger Working Group and the Coalition of Community Health and Resource Centres, is a mobile grocery store that brings fresh, affordable, and culturally-appropriate vegetables and fruit to Ottawa neighbourhoods that have limited access to healthy food. Produce on the MarketMobile is selected based on residents' needs and cultural preferences, purchased in bulk and sold on a cost recovery basis. The MarketMobile now operates year-round, two days per week.
