Travelodge Redevelopment

The owner of the Travelodge Hotel on 1354+1376 Carling Avenue has applied for a zoning amendment and site-plan to redevelop the site with multiple apartment buildings up to 20 storeys high.

Jay Odjick is an artist, writer and television producer from the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg community. You can see his work every week on the animated series based on his graphic novel, Kagagi: The Raven which airs Sunday mornings on APTN in Canada. Jay is also the creator of the Algonquin Word of the Day language series which he has been sharing on Twitter.

The City of Ottawa invites you to attend a Public Information Session to review a construction project planned in your immediate neighbourhood.

At the Public Information Session starting at 6:30pm, you will be able to review the design plans for the project and a short presentation will be provided at 7:00pm to explain the nature of the construction project and the anticipated impacts during construction. Representatives from the City, City Councillors Riley Brockington (River Ward) and Rick Chiarelli (College Ward), and the design consultant will be available to discuss the project and to answer your questions.

Celebrate Father’s Day with the Ottawa Champions

Celebrate Father’s Day with Councillor Riley Brockington, the Ottawa Champions Baseball Team, and the Cuban National Team! Riley has a limited number of free tickets available for the baseball game on Sunday, June 18 at 1:35pm at RCGT Park (300 Coventry Rd). Please call 613-580-2486 or email Shannon.Hall@Ottawa.ca to reserve your tickets. Children 4 and under and free, and do not require a ticket.

Strawberry Social

Councillor Brockington will be hosting his 3rd annual Strawberry Social at the Hunt Club Riverside Park Community Centre (3320 Paul Anka Dr) on Friday, June 2 from 1pm-3pm. There will be celebrity servers, local entertainment, and lots of strawberries! New this year, there will be a shuttle service available leaving from the Alexander Community Centre at 12:15pm, and returning to the ACC once the event is over. Please note the shuttle service vehicle is a yellow school bus, and requires a reservation as there are limited spaces (48) available. Reservations are also required for the event, as there is a maximum capacity of 200 attendees.
