Yesterday, November 22nd, the CCA Greening team planted tulip bulbs at the triangle at Carling and Merivale Roads. This is part of a larger effort, in conjunction with the City of Ottawa, to beautify what is seen by many as the gateway to our lovely community.
Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who lent their skills to help us with the planting and landscaping. Be sure to come out next spring to enjoy the fruits of their labour!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at our next general members meeting, this Wednesday November 19th from 7-9pm at the Alexander Community Centre (960 Silver St).
The agenda for the evening can be viewed through the link below:

St. Elizabeth's is hosting a public event with Motivate Canada on Monday November 14th at 9am, featuring Canadian Olympic athlete and ESTEEM Team motivational speaker, Michael Tayler.
The ESTEEM Team Athlete Role Model Program is a national, not-for-profit program of Motivate Canada that brings Canadian Olympic, Paralympic and National caliber athletes to schools to inspire and activate young people to set SMART goals and dream big.
Michael will be sharing his story on how he reached his goal of racing for Canada at the London 2012 Olympic Games at the young age of 21 through the use of goal-setting. Overcoming numerous obstacles and set backs on his journey to the Games, Michael hopes to inspire St. Elizabeth’s grade 5 and 6 students to never give up and persevere through the ups and downs of achieving their own dreams.

It was announced this week that up to 24 hectares of the Experimental Farms lands along Carling Avenue have been set aside for an expansion of the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus.
While funding has not been confirmed for the new hospital this land paves the way for an expansion across Carling Avenue.
The CCA will be following these developments and will provide updates as they become available.
More information is available here.
