A man was sent to hospital with a serious head injury on Friday night after a dispute broke out inside a six-storey apartment building in Carlington. Police were called to 1433 Mayview Ave. off Merivale Road just after 8 p.m. on Friday night. Det.-Sgt. Al Mc-Connell said the victim and another man got into a fight in a hallway on the fourth floor, just outside the doorway to another resident's apartment unit. In spite of his injury, the victim managed to walk down a stairwell and out of the building, where he was met by police. The victim, who was not identified by police, was taken by paramedics to the Ottawa Hospital's Civic Campus trauma unit and was listed in stable condition. Police are currently looking for a suspect in the assault and were also trying to determine what kind of weapon was used in the attack. Anyone with information about this assault is asked to call police at west district investigations, 613-236-1222 ext. 2666, or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS).
